The tournament is recognized as the premiere golf event in Hawaii. All proceeds support Hale ‘Aina ‘Ohana culinary student education. Last year’s tournament raised over $45,000 for culinary education. This year’s tournament, again presented by Better Brands and American Express under the coordination of Hale ‘Aina ‘Ohana board members George Szigeti of Better Brands and Tom Mullen of American Express, promises to be another fantastic day on the course.
Celebrity chefs and food personalities participate in the day-long celebration with award-winning food served throughout the day by HONOLULU Magazine’s Hale ‘Aina ‘Award winning restaurants. The tournament raffle features thousands of dollars in prizes including neighbor island trips, amazing electronics and luxury gift certificates. Golfers have numerous chances to win gifts in the hole-in-one, closest to the pin, putting, chipping and driving competitions.
The tournament is the ‘Ohana’s key fundraiser, allowing our organization to sponsor educational culinary projects throughout the Islands. Programming includes Center of the Plate workshops led by award-winning Hawaii chefs and visiting Master Chef Events. The ‘Ohana supported programs bring local, mainland and international chefs into the classroom in order to present intensive learning experiences for culinary/chef instructors and local culinary students.
